WOMEN'S MOON LODGE

Our intention is for this virtual moon lodge to become a gathering place for women's voices concerning the cycles of their lives... a coming together for renewal and visioning.

"The Moon Lodge is the place of women, where women gather during their menstrual time to be at-one with each other and the changes ocurring in their bodies. Long ago, during this special time of moon cycles, women were removed from duties of family and allowed to retreat to the Moon Lodge to enyoy the company of their Sisters.

Traditionally, the Moontime is the sacred time of woman when she is honored as a Mother of the Creative Force. During this time she is allowed to release the old energy her body has carried and prepare for reconnection to the Earth Mother's fertility that she will carry in the next Moon or month. Our Ancestors understood the importance of allowing each woman to have her Sacred Space during this time of reconnection, because women were the carriers of abundance and fertility.

As Grandmother Moon is the weaver of tides ( the water or blood of our Earth Mother) so a woman's cycles follow the rhythm of that weaving. When women live together in a common space, their bodies begin to regulate their menses and all will eventually have their Moontime concurrently. This natural rhythm is one of the bonds of Sisterhood.

Women honor their sacred path when they acknowledge the intuitive knowing inherent in their receptive nature. In trusting the cycles of their bodies and allowing the feelings to emerge within them, women have been Seers and Oracles for their tribes for centuries."

THE MAYAN CALENDAR AND THE CYCLES OF THE GODDESS
by Carl Johan Calleman

Humanity’s path towards retrieving the Mayan calendar system really started with the Harmonic Convergence, August 16-17, 1987, when large numbers of people in the West turned out for a spiritual celebration. Although, it was not recognized at the time, this celebration had the distinction of falling on the first two days of a traditional Mayan tzolkin (260-day) round. This befits a new beginning. Although he was not alone, José Argüelles was the main promoter of the event and in the seminal "The Mayan Factor"1 outlined several very important ideas that would later be instrumental for elucidating the meaning of the Mayan calendar system. Among many other valuable ideas he emphasized the importance of the non-physical nature of the Mayan calendar system: "Naturally, most Mayan scholars are puzzled by what appears to be the use of 260- and 360-unit "calendar" cycles that do not correspond in any precise way to perceivable astronomical or organic planetary cycles"(page 73). Although both Frank Waters and Peter Balin some ten years earlier had suggested that the Mayan calendar system had a real relevance for the spiritual evolution of mankind, Argüelles brought this insight to a new level. The contours of a cosmic plan became visible.

In the subsequent years, Argüelles however left the non-physical cycles and with his wife Lloydine developed a calendar system, which was dubbed the Dreamspell/Thirteen Moon calendar and was adapted to the physical year of 365.25 years. Especially since we collaborate in certain respects I feel it is all the more important to clarify the differences between the calendar systems that we are proposing and why I instead favor a prophetic calendar system that is based on non-physical cycles. I feel in fact that there is overwhelming evidence that only a non-astronomically based calendar system can guide humanity’s path towards Enlightenment.

While the issue of what is the true tzolkin count has been extensively discussed in the past the same cannot be said about the idea of dividing the solar year into thirteen moons of 28 days each plus one “day out of time”. Essentially this calendar system however seems to have been based on the premise that 28 days should correspond to the feminine cycle. Regardless, it deviates from the traditional Mayan way of counting months. At ancient steles we may see that the duration of their months alternated between 29 and 30 days.– a calendrical system that incidentally for a long time has also been used by the Jews.

This raises the question of what is the duration of the true feminine cycle. Why did the ancient Maya follow a moon cycle averaging 29.5 days rather than 28? A full moon cycle is 29.53 days and in ancient mythologies the full moon is almost invariably associated with a female goddess. Among the Maya this goddess was called Ixchel and in Babylon she was called Ishtar, who was said always to menstruate on a full moon. This raises the question of why, if ancient mythologies associate the female cycles of ovulation and menstruation with the full moon cycle of 29.5 days, why do modern doctors often tell us that it is 28 days? click here for more

A new phase is beginning in the Cosmic Time Plan as of Dec 4, 2004 –
The Transformation of Consciousness will really take off!

by Carl Johan Calleman

The Fourth Day
A new phase in the evolution of the Cosmic Time Plan will soon open up; the Fourth DAY of the Galactic Underworld. This phase will begin on the Gregorian date December 4, 2004 and will last until Nov 28, 2005. This Fourth DAY is a pulse of LIGHT that will be dominating us for a period of 360 days, a period that among the Maya is called a tun, a prophetic “year” characterized by a specific spiritual energy. It represents a pulse of forward energy, of creative LIGHT, and so to use a symbolic term we may call this whole period a DAY.

This coming DAY is the Fourth DAY of the Underworld that is currently affecting us the most, the Galactic Underworld, which started January 5, 1999 and will be completed on October 28, 2011 (see Figure on the next page). It is in this Fourth DAY that the transformation of consciousness in a very real sense is beginning. It will soon become evident that the Galactic Underworld propels an irreversible process that will affect the whole planet and all aspects of life.

In this context, the term Underworld, borrowed from Maya-Aztec Cosmology, simply means “Level of Evolution of Consciousness”. Such an Underworld is developed according to the Cosmic Time Plan in a series of Seven pulses of LIGHT, Seven DAYS. To understand the prophetic Mayan calendar system it is imperative to realize that new levels of consciousness, or Underworlds, are developed through such series of similar pulses, series of DAYS. During these DAYS, new consciousness fields, with an origin in the Cosmic World Tree, are relayed by the inner core of the Earth and determine the creativity and perception of the human beings. Thus, the prophetic Mayan calendar system is a codification of a divine plan for the evolution of consciousness and unlike all other calendars in this world it is not astronomically based. In fact, it goes back to a time when our solar system did not even exist – to the Big Bang – and encompasses a very wide perspective of time.

These are the Times of Time

"We are in very important moments right now.
We can all feel it in our gut."

Our actions and thoughts have always had a direct influence on our daily, immediate lives as well as to all those that follow in the future to come. In these times, our thoughts and actions are even more critical.

In a few more years, on Oct 28th 2011 we are going to meet our future. Just as the Shuttle Spacecraft needs to be at the correct attitude to safely re-enter our atmosphere, we must be at the correct attitude as a world population, in order to create the desired state of awareness and being that will exist beyond the limits of space and time. We have been "gestating" for at least 26000 years. Our next step in the evolution of the Biosphere we call Earth and beyond is for us all to take our place as co-creators of worlds. We need to be in resonance with our current environment and state of Creation by that time or… NO graduation. Some could be doomed to do it all over again. Starting from what ever is left of our world with the few survivors eventually crawling back out of the caves and……

This is all too familiar isn't it?

There have come to light very recently vitally important clues as how to come to that resonance. These clues are found in the Mayan calendar system of the Sacred Tzolkin and Divine Tun calendars. These two calendars work together as meshed gears constantly describing the flow, rate and intent of Creation itself. We have been working to help the Maya, Toltec and Aztec people, the Meso-Americans to recover the Knowledge of their own calendar and culture. The very basis of their culture has been under attack for the last 520 or so years. Many different forces and controlling interests have tried to eradicate the Meso Calendar otherwise known as the sacred calendar or sacred count of days. These interests have called the calendar Pagan and Demonic, Witchcraft and just down right empowering to the indigenous people. This EMPOWERMENT, being the most dangerous.

Most Meso-Americans, know very little if anything about the sacred calendar. It has been a deadly sin to even speak of let alone teach the sacred count of days. These controlling interests have done the killing of hundreds of thousands of indigenous priests to make their point very clear. This story can be read more in detail in the Feb 26 99 issue of the Washington Post. Over the last 520 years the Meso-Americans have taken it in the teeth many times but some kept the knowledge. They still count the "sacred count of days" toward our rendezvous with galactic destiny as they have for the last 3000 years or more.

So why the big fuss? So what about this Mayan calendar? Why the Mayan Calendar? Why should anyone be interested in the Mayan calendar? We don't need another calendar do we?

Maybe, yes. We have all been seriously slighted on information about the grand civilizations that arose in Central America. What information we have gotten about the Mayan or Aztec civilizations was, to varying degrees, twisted to suit the messenger, not the truth. Not a new story is it? But what those cultures left us, as clues, carved in stone and grown over in the jungles, are a new and very important story.

Our culture, as opposed to indigenous cultures, is cut off from our natural surroundings and to the "Natural Cycles" of life. One could say we are fixated or even addicted to convenience and glitz. Probably less than 5% of the people you know could tell you what phase the moon is in. Why not? They are not paying attention. What are they paying attention to? If you want to have a good relationship, say, with your mother. You have got to pay attention to her. If you talk to your garden and love the plants they will grow bigger and better. Quantum physicists have now proven that all of our reality is set up on the principle of "As above so below." Repeating patterns of creation form microscopic to galactic. Which then says; "What is good for your garden and your mother is good for Mother Earth."

So how do you pay attention to a whole planet? By watching the timing of the natural cycles. By just noticing the natural cycles you are paying reverence to those cycles. Some would call this "counting your blessings" as indeed these are our blessings. Our mental disconnection from these underlying timing patterns of our evolvement as the human race has caused an increasing unbalance of emotion. We exhibit this with crime, pollution and wars, Mother Earth's upset is expressed with "Weird Weather", earthquakes and volcanoes. All simply because… WE AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION ANY MORE. If we seriously want to heal our relationship with Mother Earth, as more and more of us do… We must spend some "quality time" paying attention to these natural cycles. Doing things like, watching a moonrise, sitting through a sunset or finding North, South, East and West from where you are now, these are natural cycles. Not too tough a duty is it?

The Mayan sacred calendar, The Tzolkin, describes the timing of every cycle we can detect. From an electron's frequency of orbit around its nucleus, to the musical scale, to our own 26,000 year orbit known as the procession of equinoxes, this calendar system does it all. This marvelous ancient invention actually weaves the Binary and the Fibernaci sequences together. These two number sequences have been shown to be the base patterns for all of biology and chemistry. The Mayan sacred calendar called the Tzolkin, blends these frequencies into a ratio of 13:20. Our physical existence on this planet is tied directly to the ratio of 13:20. There are 13 cycles of the moon in one year. The human reproduction cycle follows this moon cycle. 13 is the number of major joints in your body. You have 20 fingers and toes. There are 20 different amino acids that make up the codons of your DNA. 13 x 20 = 260. There are 260 days in the Tzolkin calendar. 260 days are 9 months, the gestation period of the human being. Your own study of the Mayan calendar would unfold many more examples then we have the time or space to mention here.

Suffice it to say, these Maya guys "got somthin goin on" with their calendar. By simply following the days on the Mayan calendar, you become entrained or synchronized, with the natural cycles that are timed by this calendar. When the Sacred Tzolkin is connected to the Mayan Divine calendar of 360 days called the "Tun", (tune) the cycles of the Creation itself are displayed. Thus your time becomes more natural and less mechanical. No sweat, no strain, just a flow of attention on what day it is. You will naturally start to notice more and more of these cycles. The Mayan calendar was left here for us to use. It is a tool, to gently and naturally recalibrate our mindset for the changes we all feel must come if life is to continue on this planet.

MASTERMINDING WITH THE MOON

Masterminding with the moon is a powerful way to start off any new lunar cycle. Here’s how…

Get a group together and agree to meet for 60 to 90 minutes once a week starting as close to New Moon time as possible.

Download the lunar journal for the month.

Open your mastermind gatherings by repeating the affirmation for the month (on page one of your journal).

Select a time keeper. Each person then spends 1- 3 minutes talking about what’s going on for them and what they want to focus their energy on and accomplish during this lunar cycle. After going around the group, each person formulates an intention that will help move them towards their goal. The group can help them narrow this down so it’s affirmative, concise and focused.

Each person in turn states their intention and the group takes a minute to hold the intention and feel and see the person having accomplished it. This way, the static, blockages, and “how’s” you might personally run in your mind are circumvented and you also have the expansive power of several people holding this for you and with you.

Each week you review your progress and formulate an intention in line with the energy of that particular phase. Whenever you write in your journal (at least one time during each 31/2 days that a phase lasts) revisit the feeling of accomplishment you’re holding for each person in your group.

I can tell you from personal experience that this is very powerful.

Please e-mail Claudia and tell me about your experience.

Speech by Dr. Marten Luther King
delivered at Riverside Church, New York City, April 4th, 1967

"A time comes when silence is betrayal. Even when pressed by the demands of inner truth, men [sic] do not easily assume the task of opposing their government's policy, especially in time of war. Nor does the human spirit move without great difficulty against all the apathy of conformist thought within one's own bosom and in the surrounding world. Moreover, when the issues at hand seem as perplexing as they often do in the case of dreadful conflict, we are always on the verge of being mesmerized by uncertainty. But we must move on."

"Some of us who have already begun to break the silence of the night have found that the calling to speak is often a vocation of agony, but we must speak. We must speak with all the humility that is appropriate to our limited vision, but we must speak. For we are deeply in need of a new way beyond the darkness that seems so close around us."

"We are called to speak for the weak, for the voiceless, for the victims of our nation, for those it calls "enemy", for no document from human hands can make these humans any less our brothers. I think of them, too, because it is clear to me that there will be no meaningful solution until some attempt is made to know them and hear their broken cries."

"I am convinced that if we are to get on the right side of the world revolution, we as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values. We must rapidly begin the shift from a thing-oriented society to a person-oriented society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights, are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered."

"A true revolution of values will lay hand on the world order and say of war, "This way of settling differences is not just." A nation that continues year and year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death."

"America, the richest and most powerful nation in the world, can well lead the way in this revolution of values. There is nothing except a tragic death wish to prevent us from reordering our priorities over the pursuit of war."

"This call for a worldwide fellowship that lifts neighborly concern beyond one's tribe, clan, race, class, and nation is in reality a call for an all-embracing and unconditional love for all mankind. We can no longer afford to worship the God of hate or bow before the altar of retaliation. The oceans of history are made turbulent by the ever-rising tides of hate. History is cluttered with the wreckage of nations and individuals that pursed this self-defeating path of hate."

"We still have a choice today nonviolent coexistence or violent co annihilation. We must move past indecision to action. If we do not act, we shall surely be dragged down the long, dark, and shameful corridors of time reserved for those who posses power without compassion, might without morality, and strength without sight."

"Now let us begin. Now let us rededicate ourselves in the long and bitter, but beautiful struggle for a new world. If we will but make the right choice, we will be able to speed up the day, all over America and all over the world, when justice will roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream."

"May our country, on the brink of war, take to heart the final refrain of "America, the Beautiful" "America! America! God mend thine ev'ry flaw, Confirm thy soul in self-control, Thy liberty in law."

Creating a Moontime Mandala©
The Way to Spirit Through our Bleeding Cycles

By KELLY ROSE MASON

All women carry the cycle of life and death within us. Its center spirals in and out of our wombs and it manifests in our monthly bleeding cycle. In ancient times, women carried this knowledge and knew how to use and flow with the energies of their moon cycles. There was no shame or taboo around women's blood. In fact, it was the source of women's power, and the monthly rituals they practiced around their bleeding time were the first rituals in human history.

Like many sources of authentic power, this knowledge has been denied and twisted throughout patriarchal times, bringing women to the point where we stand at a precipice. And the view down is frightening and ugly: a world in which our power is cut out unnecessarily, enslaved by medication, regulated by hormones, even rendered obsolete by science. Sadly, recent articles in mainstream magazines are celebrating a new drug that will halt menstruation permanently, declaring it a "victory" for women who want to succeed in a man's world: a way for us to "take back our power" and not have our monthly "curse" anymore. click here for more

Jewish Women Reclaim Rituals of the New Moon

By ELAINE ROSE

Many spiritual traditions say women's nature is linked to the moon. Maybe it's the mystery, the cycles women go through every month or the way the moon waxes and wanes like the cycles of life.
Jewish women in southern New Jersey are returning to a celebiation of the new moon as their own special time. Once considered a holiday for women to take care of themselves and each other, the custom fell into disuse in modem times. Until now.
"We forgot about it for a long time," said Adria Light of Jewish Family Service, who started the tradition again in southern New Jersey. "Some people say men took it away, and we're reclaiming it." click here for more

Reclaiming Menstrual Power

an excerpt from "Mysteries of the Dark Moon" by Demetra George.

"Esther Harding suggests that one of the reasons for women's menstrual disabilities and PMS today is that modern culture does not provide any kind of menstrual rituals. Menstruation is just each woman's private affliction, where she suffers alone; it has no positive value or meaning.

Women have been deprived of retreating to the ancient menstrual huts, where they could commune with their inner beings, attune themselves to cosmic cycles, and share in the secret knowledge passed on in the community of other bleeding women.

In order to reclaim their menstrual power... click here for more"
